Hi I’m Britt!
Known professionally as The Purple Violinist
Also known personally as Britt Stocks…
꩜ I’m a Musician, Teacher, Creative Entrepreneur & Consultant ꩜
After pursuing a Masters in Teaching, I decided to follow my dreams of becoming a professional musician. An artistic Jill of all trades, this decision led me on a journey of performing, teaching, music business management, creative entrepreneurship, and the healing arts.
Everything I do, I do with my heart & soul…and a side of sass. I struggled to figure out how to combine all of my creative passions. But once I realized being an artist is all about embracing your multifaceted passions, I began to truly share all of my talents and gifts with the world. And I feel grateful to help and inspire others to do the same through the arts.
Brittany has been performing professionally for over 20 years, playing violin and viola all over the world. She has performed professionally for weddings & events, in various different orchestras, ensembles, and rock bands.
She is one of the founding members and past Creative & Social Media Director for the Blackstone Valley String Quartet (2016-2018). She spent two years after that as the Studio Manager for Red 13 Studios, a music production studio. After teaching music lessons part-time from 2016-2019, she decided to teach full-time in the Fall of 2019 and continued doing so online throughout the pandemic and after. After becoming certified in Yoga & Mindfulness for kids and adults, Brittany began to experiment with infusing mindfulness into both arts curriculum and her teaching as well as business strategies for artistic entrepreneurship. This led to her eventually writing mindfulness workbooks for beginner musicians. Brittany continues to both perform and teach as well as offer her services as a Creative Consultant for artists and arts organizations. She currently works for the Nashua Community Music School as their Marketing Coordinator.
As a Music Teacher & Coach, Brittany has developed her own style of teaching which focuses on meeting her clients & students where they are in the moment physically, mentally, and emotionally. Her method of teaching and coaching is focused on fostering mindfulness and a growth mindset. She strives to help her students not only learn how to express themselves and work hard towards their personal goals but to also cultivate self awareness, body awareness, and lifelong self care habits through building connection, encouraging self reflection, and fostering love and compassion for themselves and others.
Brittany currently holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Framingham State University (2012), where she studied English Literature, American History, and Music. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) with a concentration in Secondary English from Simmons University in Boston (2017).
